Wise words of my mother

These are the words that should’ve been written by mothers’ hand. Her penmanship is so stylistically ornate and beautiful. Seeing them written on paper in her hand would be a blessing. But my mother never took the time to write down the priceless pearls of knowledge that she possesses. She’s such a busybody. She’s busy with this and she’s busy with that. And so, I her daughter, am taking the time to make sure that her legacy endures.

1.)    Feelings are feelings. They’re not right or wrong.

2.)   Never go back to the past.

3.)    Always save a little bit of yourself, just for you.

4.)    He wasn’t lying to you, he was sparing your feelings.

5.)    There’s some things meant for just you to experience on your own, not with anyone else.

6.)    Promise me one thing. Promise me that you’re going to go out and live your life. Travel. See the world. Live the life that I never got to.

7.)    Put the drink down sweetie.

8.)    Yeah you fall in love more than once. Every woman does. But there’s one that will forever stick out more than all the rest.

9.)    I still love him you know. He was my first love. If anybody ever tried to hurt him, I’d kill ‘em, but I’m not in-love with him anymore.

10.) You can read all you want in those books honey, but you gotta let God deal with your heart.

11.) It’s either black or it’s white. There’s no gray area.

12.) Only asses assume.

13.) You’re someone that’s hard to forget baby. Why don’t you ever believe me when I tell you that?

14.) I love you and if you don’t believe me than that’s your problem. There’s nothing that I can do about that.

15.) Women have instincts for a reason. Don’t ever doubt ‘em either.

16.) Guilt in excess is a wasted emotion. (Emphasis mine)

As my life continues, and I face circumstances, I will remember more and more of my mother’s wise words. As I do remember them, I will write them all and share them with the world. Here’s a tipped hat to that wise woman.
